BLUE HILL PANTRY GETS GRANT FOR FILM
BLUE HILL — The Richard S. Petty Charitable Foundation has given The Tree of Life Food Pantry a $5,000 donation to produce two short films about how the pantry turns clothing sales into food for those in need.  Tree of Life Board member Rick Traub explained that nearly all of the pantry’s food is purchased with money raised from clothing sales at the Turnstyle Thrift Shop.  Dick and Melody Kane of Sedgwick, who operate Kane-Lewis Productions, are donating their time to create the films.  One film will be a three-minute advertisement to raise awareness for the pantry.  Traub hopes local theaters might show it before films.
The second film, to be about 10 minutes, will explain the relationship between the Turnstyle Thrift Shop and the food pantry.  “It’s a pretty unique concept that a lot of people could replicate,” Traub said.  The pantry has applied for an additional grant that would help fund production of DVD copies of the films.  Blue Hill Food Pantry Gets Grant for Film
